埃克塞特大学（University of Exeter）创立于十九世纪中叶，是英国优秀的综合性大学之一。曾是英国大学“1994大学集团”成员之一。2012年3月12日，埃克塞特大学退出1994年集团，加入有英国常春藤联盟之称的罗素集团。 大学前身为成立于1900年的“皇家亚厘毕学院”（Royal Albert Memorial College）和成立于1922年“西南英格兰大学学院”（University College of the South West of England）”。于1955年获得皇家特许状，正式升格为大学。 埃克塞特大学位于英国德文郡首府埃克塞特和康沃尔郡首府法尔茅斯，英格兰西南部德文郡和康沃尔郡美丽的城市和海滨风光一同构成了埃克塞特大学优美的校园环境，被《泰晤士报》称为“英国最美的花园式校园”。埃克塞特大学现有全日制学生约19,000人，国际学生占总学生数的25%，来自世界超过130个国家，中国学生占国际学生人数的30% ，是一所名副其实的国际型大学。著名校友有《哈利·波特》作者J·K·罗琳，牛津大学校长Andrew D. Hamilton等人。
